A Little bit of What we Love

It is our passion when we travel to make sure we stop and support local small businesses. We take pride in sharing our love for shopping small and these are just a few places that we love! This list will be ever changing as we add new buisnesses that we discover so make sure to keep looking for something new when you are out and about!

At the top of California’s most northern reaches, we have the Alexandre Farm Store (top) and the Farmers Daughter (bottom). Both of these are run by family members of/or related to Alexandre Dairy and have lovely stores that you should check out if in the area! Both Ferndale and Crescent city locations offer farm tours of their dairy so make sure to take a peak!

Here we have High Hand Nursery (top) and Lee’s feed (bottom). High Hand is a great place to stop and take a rest, get some food, buy some gifts, and get some plants! Lee’s Feed has all your feed needs with large selections for any animal and also has a large clothing section, so it is a must stop shop!

The coast is one of our favorite places and has the most to offer in our partial opinion! In Petaluma, Cottage Gardens(top) is a beautiful garden nursery with specialty David Austen roses and a variety of veggie starts for any gardener. On the way to Point Reyes, you must also stop at Heidrum Meadery (bottom). There is nothing quite like fresh honey mead, and their location offers a beautiful store, tasting rooms, and gardens to enjoy your drinks!

Other locations in this area include Valley Ford Creamery (top) which has great coffee, food, and views of their creamery. If looking for some herbal remedies, you have to stop at Rosemary’s Garden(bottom) in Sebastopol! It has everything from herbal wellness tablets to herbal teas and loose herbs! Right next door is a great unique coffee shop with drinks you never have seen before!

If you happen to be in the area and are on the way to Oakdale, you must stop at Stuyt Farmstead Shop! Run by two sisters, they have some of the best cheese curds you have ever tried. They also offer a lot of other local business goodies, so you must stop and take a look.
